Generative Type Exploration
Generative design refers to a process where outputs are produced through code, based on defined rules and parameters. These outputs can vary in form and evolve over time, responding to changes within the system.
In this workshop, we focused on typography as a generative medium—one that moves beyond static form to become dynamic, responsive, and time-based. By building coded systems, we explored how type can shift, mutate, and play, revealing new expressions and behaviours.
Through a series of structured exercises, we examined how generative processes can challenge conventional ideas of type design. The works presented in this showcase are the result of those explorations.
