CONCEPTUAL PRACTICES: RESEARCH, CREATIVE TECHNOLOGY, USER EXPERIENCE
MAKING PRACTICES WEB DEVELOPMENT, PRINT
It's been increasingly lonely and isolating to be on the internet.
Commercialisation, algorithmic feeds, and the rise of generative AI have changed how we relate to the internet. In response, I turned to the roots: early web cultures, net.art, personal websites — spaces that celebrated creativity over clicks. Through critical inquiry and historical research, I traced the transformation of the World Wide Web, examining its social, cultural, and technological shifts. Alternative Web Spaces is both research and reclamation. I designed and coded Garden Web (a net.art or website) as a first-time internet artist and curated a personal archive of poetic websites, exploring what it means to make with care, on a medium often consumed without it.
